The Rainbow Fish Musical

With shiny, multi-colored scales, Rainbow Fish is the most beautiful fish in all of the ocean, and the only one of his (or her!)  kind.  When Rainbow Fish refuses to share his vibrant, shimmering scales, the whole ocean seems to turn against the vain creature.  Unhappy that no one adores him anymore, the Rainbow Fish seeks out the wise Octopus, who helps him learn that it’s far better to be admired for being kind than for being beautiful.

With a bubbly, energetic score and a script that invites wonderful creativity and flexibility, the universal message at the heart of this delightful musical becomes much more than just a simple children’s story.

Adapted from the book by Marcus Pfister, translated into English by J.  Alison James, with illustrations by Marcus Pfister.

Directed by Norman Blumensaadt (Shining City), The Tavern features Greg Ginther (The Thanksgiving Play), Ev Lunning (The Dresser), Michael Lucas (Heartbreak House), Tom Chamberlain (The Goat or Who is Sylvia), Annie Merritt (The Cricket on the Hearth), Kirstin Fern Johnson (Heartbreak House), Jessica Medina (The Cricket on the Hearth), Emily Robert Stevens (Great House), Doll’s Villarreal (A Expectations), Jack Baziuk (All is Calm) and Steven Fay (Heartbreak House).

Ghost Lights:
A Quest into the Paranormal!

The doors of Austin’s oldest historic theater are opening to the public for the first time, to host paranormal investigations. Rumors of ghost sightings, sounds, smells and the unexplainable movement of objects have been reported since the building was built as a German Opera House 153-years-ago in 1871. This is an exclusive partnership with the nationally renowned Austin Ghost Tours and Austin’s Scottish-Rite Theater.

This is a 2-hour private access to the private and public areas of the theater. In a group environment we will use various experiments to create other worldly communication. Including the Estes method, spirit chat box, ovalis, spirit dice, laser grid, REM pod, EMF detectors and dowsing rods. Arrive 15-minutes ahead of time, we lock the doors when the Investigation begins.
